Collagen-Based Wound Matrices

Collagen-based wound matrices are especially useful for chronic, hard-to-heal wounds such as diabetic foot ulcers, venous leg ulcers, pressure injuries, and surgical wounds. By providing structure and support where the body struggles to repair itself, these products play a vital role in achieving better healing outcomes.

bio-ConneKt® Wound Matrix (Q4161)

  • Composed of reconstituted Type I collagen derived from equine tendon, chemically cross-linked to resist early proteolytic degradation.
  • Sterile, conformable, porous, hydrophilic scaffold that can absorb fluids (≈0.5 cc per cm²) and conform closely to wound beds.
  • Stabilized collagen matrix allows the product to remain intact longer, reducing the need for frequent reapplications.
  • Room-temperature storage (dry), no need for refrigeration. Long shelf life.
  • Minimal preparation: hydrated in sterile saline before application, ready to use.
  • Biocompatible and cell-friendly; designed to integrate with host tissue over time (gradual remodeling) while supporting new tissue growth.

Helicoll (Q4164)

  • Helicoll is an acellular collagen matrix derived from bovine tissue (as described in wound-care product comparisons).
  • Provides structural collagen scaffolding to support tissue regeneration, while minimizing immunogenic components due to decellularization.
  • Designed to be biocompatible, supporting host cell infiltration and integration.
  • Enables ease of handling and conformability to wound beds. (wound dressing)

Derm-Maxx (Q4238)

  • Human or xenogeneic dermal extracellular matrix scaffold
  • Maintains collagen and elastin microstructure to support tissue regeneration.
  • Decellularized to reduce immunogenicity; retains native architecture.
  • Flexible, suturable, easy to handle.

Esano ACA (Q4275)

  • ACA could mean “Acellular Collagen Allograft” or similar.
  • Provides structural ECM support.
  • Low immunogenic profile.
